Welcome to Purely Predators where all we do is offer guide service for hunting predators in Southern Arizona. My name is Eliot Anderson and I love hunting predators! I have been hunting predators for fourteen years and have successfully called in and killed fox, coyote, bobcat, mountain lion and bears both for myself and for clients. Of these five legal predators in Arizona, our primary focus is on the fur bearers: Coyote, fox, and bobcat. Let me help you fulfill your goal of harvesting one of these awesome animals in a fair chase hunting environment on public land.
You will be hunting on the thousands of acres of public land surrounding Tucson, Arizona. The topography ranges from 2500' low desert to 7000' pine forest. Depending on your physical condition, we can hunt near the many miles of dirt roads or leave the truck at first light and hike all day to access more remote areas. As a general rule, the better shape you are in the better chance of success you will have. With that being said, predator calling does not usually require the physical fitness of most big game hunts. This area is known for its mild winter temperatures and has become a very popular destination for winter visitors. We can assist you in planning your local accommodations and refer you to any services you may need during your stay.
About 11 years ago I decided I wanted to call in and kill a bobcat. I spent the next two years pursuing this goal. It took hundreds of miles in the truck and on foot, countless hours listening to a dying cottontail on my electronic call, and a few missed opportunities before I finally killed my first cat. During that time, I called and killed a fair amount of coyotes and fox. But for me then and still today, the bobcats are the ultimate prize. It was also during those "learning years" I learned about where all these animals spend their time, what they eat, where to position myself in order to see them before they see me, and what sounds consistently illicit a response, depending on the time of year and weather. I scout year round with trail cameras, by hiking washes and game trails looking for sign, driving roads to keep current on access points, and glassing with tripod mounted high power binoculars. I believe my experience in the field and familiarity with the area will give you an exciting hunting experience you won't soon forget!
